SHALOM COMMUNITY HOUSING PROJECT
This project started four years ago, we came to realize that some elderly people in the community were sleeping nearly outside because they had no strength to build for themselves shelters yet they were staying with their grand children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS.
During our home visits we came to discover that some of our children were coming from such families, the community members came to a common mind of helping these vulnerable people with small mud houses where a majority of construction materials can be donated locally like trees, water, reeds, banana fibers and labor.

Housing support for selected vulnerable elderly persons comprises of a two bedroomed mud house, however we would like to upgrade the program to also include kitchen, a pit latrine and a small water tank.
While most materials are donated locally and inkind, we request for your financial support to purchase materials like Iron sheets, nails, water tank, cement, plus transportation of some materials.
